so this is my good friend ross alexander who i have played many gigs with back  in ireland. although not nearly enough for my liking :-)
he is a rare talent and a modern david gray with twice the talent and ten times the emotion

he contacted me one day and asked me if i would like to record a song for him called "stealing beauty" and i said certainly. so he came down to my studios (kaos studios, larne northern ireland) and we recorded the track.
he was sooo pleased with the results he asked me if i would consider recording his entire album and i was sooooo impressed with what i had heard i was honoured to be a part of his project

seeing ross's reaction and hearing the final products unfold was very satisfying for me but also very emotional as some of the recording session ended in a few tears plus a few hits!! lol

i loved playing some of the instruments on his music and i became just as attached to his music as he did i think!!!! haha

so ive put a couple of his songs on my tunes page for u and if you like what u hear (which im pretty sure u will) then go to his own website and check out the rest of his music.....its regularly played on my ipod and its an essential part of my musical day! enjoy :-)

here is some information from his website etc please check it out

7 Shades Of Something In Between is the debut EP from Ross Alexander. The EP is a subtle and eclectic mixture of varying styles, and it highlights an honest, talented, and raw approach to song writing. Some of the tracks have been carefully and meticulously recorded with huge production values, while other tracks capture a rare stripped down intimacy that lets you feel every nuance of a performance rather than just a recording.

Ross’ approach and crafting of the EP is an insight into his love of music, and his reluctance to call it an album reveals an artist struggling with conflicting opinions of his own work.

The EP’s title is an intriguing play on words which does its best to sum up the content and the author.  ‘7’ is the symbolic number for ‘completion‘ or ‘perfection‘, while ’shades of something in between’ is an all out assault on that notion of completion.

“Yeah, I’m probably proud of the title more than anything else!  It basically stems loosely from a line in a song that a friend of mine wrote a long time ago, and it sums everything up for me.  When I was writing the material I felt aware that the songs were not comfortable bedfellows, and that there was possibly going to be a clash of sorts when it came to putting them on disc.

I also felt like a musical and spiritual nomad caught between several different genres, and torn between several different identities, with no desire to be a committed member of any of them.  This is where the reluctance to call it an album comes in again, as I thought I could get away with more by calling it an EP.  As it happens, when we got the songs to disc I was surprised as to how they actually did seem to fit, so maybe the real conflict is in my own self belief and my own estimation of the material.  Whoa, that’s deep . . . ”

“How would I describe the EP?  7 Shades Of Something In Between is the sound of grief, pain, hope, loss, and love, built on the premise of an anticipated epiphany.”

The debut EP - "7 Shades Of Something In Between" is now available to stream and listen to on the website.  Just go to the music section and click on the player.  The CD release of the EP will be available in the upcoming months.
